To help you keep track of our Young Master’s journey and the busy bunnies of CheckMate, we are excited to present the tentative schedule for this fanzine project:♟️ PHASE 1: PROMOTION
- Artist & Writer Previews: Ongoing - Ending around July 24
Q- &A Session: Ongoing - Until completion
- Merchandise Reveals: Expected from July 26
- Zine Announcement (Cover, Art Previews, Content, Printing Specs, Mock-up Previews): Around August 10
- Official Price List & Menu: Expected after August 25♟️ PHASE 2: PRE-ORDER
- Pre-order Opens: During October 2026 (Details regarding Giveaway & Early Bird programs will be updated in the menu later)
- Pre-order Closes: Late October - Early November 2026 (In celebration of Cale’s birthday 🍎)♟️ PHASE 3: PRODUCTION
- Printing: November 2026, following the pre-order period
- Quality Control (QC): As soon as the items arrive at our warehouse to ensure the highest quality♟️ PHASE 4: SHIPPING

Introduction

Check Mate is a non-profit fanzine project from Vietnam dedicated to Lout of Count's Family. Inspired by royal chess and fairytales, the main lore of the zine follows a truly... grand journey: The Red Queen's quest to finally get a peaceful sleep.

This is a series of the most and latest asked questions:1. Which LCF Character keychains will be available?-> Currently, our plan includes keychains of Cale and his children~ (Ohn, Hong, and Raon). Additionally, we are considering adding wooden charms to the lineup!

2. I live in Russia, will I be able to order a zine directly from you or look for an intermediary?-> We will be setting up a website for zine sales (likely bigcartel). You will be able to order directly from the website or participate through a GO if one is available in your region

3. Will there be only invited authors in Vietnam, without the opportunity to apply for those who wish?-> Yes! Since the recruitment form was posted quite a while ago on VN fandom forums, our lineup is currently full. We have decided not to recruit more members to ensure the highest quality for the zine and to avoid deadline pressure on our members. We hope for your understanding!

4. Will the zine also be shipped overseas? (Philippines, USA, Japan, etc.)-> Yes! We will set up an international sales platform. You can either purchase directly from there or join a Group Order (GO) to help save on shipping costs

5. How many card designs will there be?-> We expect to have approximately 15 designs for the full bundle. This includes a Alice-themed poker deck and other card designs contributed by our talented artists!
